Titles of Pastoral Leaders
Pastoral
leaders are those who tend to the flock. Their work is very
crucial because it is taking care of the people of God.
It is work entrusted by Jesus, the Chief Shepherd.
Jesus,
who is master and teacher, washed his disciples’ feet
(Jn 13:14). He modeled servant leadership (Jn 13:15). All
pastoral leaders are servant leaders. They lead, but they
do so as servants.
As
such, to impress upon all the great importance of servanthood,
we are adopting new titles for our pastoral leaders, as
follows:
For
other leaders and positions, the former titles remain.3
1 Overall head of CFC-FFL in a diocese.
2 Overall head of CFC-FFL in a country.
3 Titles already being used in CFC-FFL. For a fuller list,
see paper on “Titles and Initials.”
