You
Are In This For Life
The year 2010 started with a bang! Not only from
the fireworks that lit up the night (and early morning)
sky from December 31st to January 1st, but also
from the Pro-Life Training that was held from January
5 to 7. The training gathered almost 100 people
from around the Philippines (as far as Davao and
General Santos), to learn from an expert on Pro-Life
issues. The expert is Dr. Brian Clowes.
"Dr.
Brian Clowes is a graduate of West Point, a former
A-Team leader for the Army Special Forces ("Green
Berets"), and holds a PhD in Civil Engineering
and Systems Science. Since 1995, he has been HLI's
Director of Research and Training worldwide, and
is one of the most accomplished and respected
intellectuals in the international pro-life movement.
Best known as author of the most exhaustive pro-life
informational resource volume The Facts of Life,
and for his Pro-Life Basic Training Course, Brian
is the author of nine books, over 90 scholarly
and popular articles, and has traveled to 35 countries
on five continents as a pro-life speaker, educator
and trainer. Perhaps most importantly, Brian authored
the report which helped sway legislators in the
2001 defunding of the UNFPA by the Bush administration.
Brian and his wife, Kathleen, have seven children
and combined have over 50 years of pro-life experience,
ranging from rescues, sidewalk counseling to counseling
pregnant women and assisting in litigation against
abortionists." He is as cool and smart as
his bio sounds.
We were taught everything from the Essential
Elements of Pro-Life Activism to How
to Win a Pro-Life Debate. It was 3 days
of information, inspiration and importance. Information
on the needed Pro-Life issues. Inspiration to know
that we are not alone in this fight for life. The
importance of FAITH and FAMILY
in our priorities and how we do things. That is
another clear affirmation of CFC FFL and what we
stand for.
We were taught that we need a clear goal
in our work in Pro-Life, and listening to all the
topics made us see the options on where we can really
focus. The rest of the topics were: The
Mission of the Pro-Life Movement, Source and Nature
of the Anti-Life Mentality, Anti-Life Tactics, The
Condom Conundrum, Homosexuality: Rhetoric and Reality,
The Population Control Agenda and How to Organize
Your Pro-Life Group.
It will not be an easy fight. The rest of the world
has been slowly brainwashed into believing anti-life
rhetoric. They are under the influence and finances
of the world powers that want to push population
control and abortion. And, for sure, we will end
up suffering and attacked for our being Pro-Life.
But, as Dr. Brian mentioned, there is no
greater joy than to suffer for Christ.
And, when we start feeling that there is so much
to do, we should pray: not for a lighter
load, but for a stronger back.
I have been affirmed and now I am even more passionate
and have that sense of urgency for the work for
life. In the end, we are called to be obedient,
not victorious. And not only in the work
itself, but how we live our lives as well. If
you compromise with evil, you always lose
because the culture of death thrives on
gray areas.
I commit myself to living in the light. To keep
on bringing that light to the dark areas of my life,
and to bring that light to the world, so others
may see and believe.
