12th
Children's Rosary Rally
Our
Lady of Guadalupe: Protector of the Unborn
October
9, 2010 marked the 12th Children’s Rosary Rally.
It was a very beautiful event that saw children from
the different private and public schools, parishes,
and our own CFC-KFL (CFC-FFL Kids for Family and Life)
children and RV (Restoration Village) B.A.T.A. Center
children gathered together before our Blessed Mother.
The
12th Children’s Rosary Rally was held at the
Decagon, Silver City, Frontera Verde, Pasig City.
Every year, on the 2nd Saturday of October, the Family
Rosary Crusade, the Children’s Rosary Movement,
the Ortigas and Co., and CFC Foundation for Family
and Life (CFC-FFL) through its Education Ministry
(CFCEFI) and CFC-KFL join hands to gather almost 500
children to pray the Rosary and celebrate Mass together.
The
theme for this year’s celebration was Our Lady
of Guadalupe, Protector of the Unborn
The
day started at 7:30 AM with the first children’s
March for Life with our KFL children, led by the District
of Pasig. They marched along the Tiendesitas area
with pro-life banners to make a statement in defense
of family and life. Some morning joggers even joined
the children in the march in support of this cause.
After
the march, all the children gathered together at the
venue to pray the Rosary and offer flowers to the
Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Cocoi
Javier (CFC-KFL International Coordinator) gave a
very interactive instruction on our Lady of Guadalupe
and the Rosary. The children were all very eager to
answer the trivia questions presented. This was followed
by the Living Rosary led by our very own KFL children
from the CFC-FFL Home Office and the District of Pasig.
It was animated by video clips showing the virtues
and values emphasized by each decade.
The
Eucharistic Celebration immediately followed with
Fr. John Phalen, CSC, President, Holy Cross Family
Ministries as Mass Presider. The concelebrants included
Fr. James Phalan, CSC, Director, Family Rosary International;
Fr. Parimal Pereira, CSC, Director, Family Rosary
Bangladesh; and Fr. Roque D’Costa, CSC, Executive
Director, Family Rosary Philippines. Our very own
Music Ministry, headed by Jun Eguico, led the singing
during the Mass, with our KFL children as Proclaimers
of the Word. Jack Burgoyne served as Mass Commentator.
After
the celebration of the Mass and the very inspiring
homily of Fr. John Phalen, each delegate was invited
to partake of their free snacks and to fellowship
with one another.
Each
participant was also given his own Rosary kit and
a Miraculous Medal pin.
The
Children’s Rosary Rally was also simultaneously
happening in several parishes all over the country
led by our CFC-FFL and CFC-KFL members in the different
districts, together with the different church organizations
in their respective parishes. The parishes included:
-
Parish of the Child Jesus – BF Homes, Paranaque
(Diocese of Paranaque)
- St.
Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows – Marikina
(Diocese of Antipolo)
- Our
Lady of Perpetual Help – Cubao (Diocese

Lady of the Annunciation Parish – Quezon
City (Diocese of Novaliches)
- Our

(Diocese of Manila)
- Shrine
of the Divine Mercy – Sikatuna Village (Diocese
of Cubao)
- Mary
Magdalene Parish, Pililia, Rizal
- 4
parishes in Sogod, Leyte
- Iloilo
- Tandag,
Surigao
- Similar
children’s rosary rallies were also happening
worldwide in Uruguay; Boston, Massachusetts; LeMans,
France; Banglore, India; Bangladesh; and Bangkok,
Thailand.
Together with our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe:
Protector of the Unborn and Empress of the Americas
and the Philippines, we continue to consecrate our
children, our families, our CFC-FFL community, our
country and the world. We are all looking forward
to coming together again next year for the 13th Children’s
Rosary Rally.
